The PLAX Band Part 2
The aim of course is not just to perform but to minister and so we chose somewhat evangelistic subjects in our songs.
Ikaw Lamang
words & music: jo gonzales
I
Sa pagmulat ng aking mga mata
Ikaw lang ang pag-asa
Pag-ibig Mo ang hanap-hanap ko
Sa buhay kong ito
Prechorus
Ikaw lamang Hesus
Ang kaligtasan ko oh oh
Chorus
O Diyos, Ikaw lamang
Ang tanging kailangan
Sa’Yo nasumpungan
Ang tunay na pagmamahal
II
Nadarama kong kabigatan
Iyong pinasan
Liwanag Mo ang naging daan
Ako’y sa Iyo
Bridge
Kay rami ng sinubukan
Kay rami ng pinagdaanan
Kay rami ng nilapitan
Ngunit Ikaw, O Diyos
Ikaw lamang ang tanging kailangan
Sa'Yo nasumpungan
ang tunay na pagmamahal
While performing the first song..

The PLAX Band Part 1
Anyway, we formed our banda-bandahan of 4 members. Originally, I got in as the bass guitarist; Melvin Louie Canilao as the lead guitarist, Jun Esguerra as the percussionist, and Joanne on keyboards and vocals. When Jo submitted our requirements, the coordinator was a bit shocked (as Jo related hehe) to know that we were only 4 plus the absence of a drummer boy. We've got someone to play the cajon for the beat. Ok. So, we thought of getting a drummer boy instead of having cajon for percussion. Jo contacted a friend called Jordan but sadly his schedules are tight and he cant stay out late. Ok. I actually decided to pursue an acoustic band until I checked once more my mobile's inbox and found Edward Doniego's name. That's it! Ed is a youth leader who I met in one of the generous camps in Iba, Zambales. At that time, their church was lead by Ptr Jhun Singson who was our previous resident pastor. In short, we got Ed as our drummer boy. As a result, we did a little role-switching in the band. And
THAT's us! The PLAX Band. (c/o Calbayog-Samat Band)

Preview Song Lyrics from my first album MARNIEANDFRIENDS
Draw Me Back
By: Marnie Reyes
From the album: marnieandfriends
I
There are times when I call out to
The one Who found me lost
And there are moments in my tired days
I fall and turned away
II
How could I not know You hearing me
At times when Im strayed
I believe it’s You who never fail
Go running after me
It’s the time I feel Im letting go of You
But You see me through my ups and downs
Refrain
You spared all mercy, abounding grace
To find my way back to You
Chorus
My hope relies on You
My rest inspired by You
My peace, my strength, my every all
You draw me back (so I sing this song of praise)
My joy depends on You
My comfort and my care
Lord thank you for not giving up,
You draw me back to You
Bridge
And I wonder every moment of my life
How such love persists thru time
Everlasting, You amazed me
Everlasting, Emmanuel
Song of the Month: Here In My Life by Hillsong
Here In My Life - Hillsong
I have never walked on water
Felt the waves beneath my feet but
At your Word Lord, I’ll receive Your
Faith to walk on oceans deep
And I remember how You found me:
In that very same place
All my failing surely would've drowned me
But You made a way
You are my freedom
Jesus you’re the reason
I’m kneeling again at Your throne
Where would I be without You
Here in my life, here in my life?
You have said that all the heavens
Sing for joy at one who finds
The way to freedom, truth of Jesus
Bought from death into His life
And I remember how You saw me:
Through the eyes of Your grace
And though the cost was Your beloved for me
Still you made a way!

Mahal Kong Ina
Thank you for loving me in spite of all my imperfections.
Thank you for supporting me in any of my good endeavors.
Thank you for the words of wisdom you never fail to give every day, every moment.
Thank you for the times we argued because I'm too arrogant.
Thank you for the times you first said sorry because I'm too insolent.
Thank you for the patience to correct me all the time.
Thank you for sometimes tolerating my luxury.
Thank you for making me realize my senseless extravagance.
Thank you for sharing with me your life.
Thank you for letting me know what my limitations and capabilities are.
Thank you for teaching me to hold on.
Thank you for keeping me grounded in faith.
Thank you for if not by you I wouldn't find the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Thank you for my daily allowance and for the extras.
Thank you for the fancy clothes I never asked for.
Thank you for the constant supply of inspiration to finish well in every thing.
Thank you because you chose not to give up a long time ago.
Thank you because your hug means a lot.
I know, you just couldn't stop being a mother.
Happy Birthday to my Nanay.

My endeavor to make Banana Chips
Is this a cavendish?
My inspiration (haha) and where I also got the procedure for my BC pictured above:
EFFECT OF THE STAGE OF MATURITY AND TIME-TEMPERATURE FRYING CONDITIONS ON THE QUALITY OF BANANA CHIPS (CAVENDISH VARIETY). Maria Theresa M. Pena. U of the Philippines at Diliman, 1982. Quezon City, Philippines. 107 p. (Unpublished BS Thesis).
---> which, as advised, may not be very relevant for BC industries who are already exporting.
I chose the Cavendish banana! It is usually bland in taste and is mainly produced in Mindanao (look at the label, it says there "DAVAO"! :D). This type easily goes off that's why in most areas bulk of bananas goes to waste. And making these type into chips saves the day, spares wastage, provides income especially for the low-income groups.
I'm still looking into the process flow of BC making and getting familiar with it. At present, I'm contacting a not-so-bigtime exporting manufacturer based in Cavite. Yahoo! Go Marnie!! :0

Happy Birthday Marnelle Reyes
Hi dear friends! I just turned 22 last 0107! Yahu! I was sick that day and the day before that! Im not sure if it was because I ate Razon's halo-halo (Delicioso!) or because of the cold weather. Anyway, it was a very simple celebration. We did not really cook anything special or invited friends/family over to feast! Thankfully my sister went home that night and bought me a cake and 2 dozens of KK doughnuts! Well, it was at least memorable because it was my first birthday I wore purple nail polish courtesy of the very kind Ate Rose. It was indeed my very first time that my fingernails experienced colors. That's Jose Miguel (Miggy) on the right, by the way.
But wait, there's more!!!
A small fellowship was organized by a few friends from CLYM on the 11th of January for me and Louie who was celebrating his birthday that day! It was held at the Canilao's residence. Thanks to Mami Angelina, Lola and Asst. chefs for the delicioussss snax! Thanks CLYM for the small-time partey! :D
